Wine Description: The everyman’s Petrus…..sometimes these are better earlier but still very impressive wines. Alain Vauthier’s winery is open and loved by RPJ. Carries a good name and is liked world-wide. Look at all years before buying. The Audi of the wine-world.
Wines Year Description: The original blockbuster from Ausone. 100 points. Will last for another 60 years, so not quite as valuable as the 2003. Will reach the 40k mark in the next 10 years in terms of price growth. A strong dark wine with plenty of force and essence of dark fruits and wood. A widened drinker’s glass I think! If you have the cash right now then buy this for a 5 year hold as the credit crunch has brought down prices.
