From St Estephe, they make blends of cab sav, merlot and petit verdot. These are very low production and often great drinking wines. |

Unlike the 2000, this has a longer overall expectancy; counting from 1995 it will last till 2045. It matured in great doses in the first 4 years and slowed right down thereafter where RPJ gave the wine a score of 92 points. It is expected to ever so slightly improve with age from now, and may be graded again. It is not high enough in my opinion to invest in (quality wise) but may prove a slow burning asset over a 15 year period from now. Tastes of red meat, grounded truffles and liquorice, it’s strong and winding in taste – a late to mature and late harvested wine. RPJ has recommended most to buy this either for drinking or holding but you’d have been better off back in the 90’s. |
