RPJ Score: 96-100
Wine Description: St Emilion, dry red blend. One of the 1st Growth’s and very popular world-wide, you can’t go wrong investment wise, with this type. But beware price and choosing the best of a good bunch. Harvest can be cut in half for different years, and this will mean rarer wines to get hold of. See year 2000
Wines Year Description: Low acidity and ripe, sweet and oily texture that explodes with refined taste accustomed to the best Cheval Blanc’s. Tastes of old oak, smoky black fruits and hint of spice and coconut in the nose, where RPJ described it as a Le Pin impression. Full bodied and rich this is a superb wine that offers unravel pleasure. A 98 points for RPJ and 100 from us, as if you compare this to Le Pin you will be hard pushed to describe it as a less pleasurable experience and 1990 is a great year at any rate. Will last till 2018, so buy this to drink if you want a great, but this to invest if the price is low and you will hold for another 5 years and sell. Not a beginner’s choice but a footnote so to speak!
