Wine Description:
St Emilion, dry red blend. One of the 1st Growth’s and very popular world-wide, you can’t go wrong investment wise, with this type. But beware price and choosing the best of a good bunch. Harvest can be cut in half for different years, and this will mean rarer wines to get hold of. See year 2000
Wines Year Description:
The 2001 is a good wine in a bad vintage. A lone warrior in an otherwise destitute year. Like the Lafite Rothschild 2001 this is a great wine but suffers in popularity because of the bad year’s reputation. This is rare and low quantity, about 60% of normal production. It will be a winner in 10 years so keep this for the long term. I have some myself in the cellar and would recommend it as a fab wine. To start drinking 2008 and keeps for another 12 years. It’s a 60/40 of Merlot and Cab Franc so it’s strong and succulent, dark fruits and earthy aroma. Good investment! See 2000
