St Emilion, dry red blend. One of the 1st Growth’s and very popular world-wide, you can’t go wrong investment wise, with this type. But beware price and choosing the best of a good bunch. Harvest can be cut in half for different years, and this will mean rarer wines to get hold of. See year 2000
Wines Year Description:
What a wine! Dense in texture, dark fruits and burnt oak, graphite earthy spices rise majestically from the glass. This is exactly what a good year and a good grape will do. See 2006 for something similar. Will live till 2035, so it has long legs and will keep maturing. I think taken into account that RPJ openly grades these top wines a little harder; you could see this as a 98 point in my eyes. Not quite as good as the 200 though. This is already expensive, but if you have the cash buy it now and keep till 2020. High tannins and obvious growth potential mean a searingly good investment here! 96 points. See 2000
