RPJ Score:
90-95
Wine Description:
A dry red blend from Pessac Leognan, owned by an American banker called Robert Wilmers and Veronique Sanders. A cult wine with a cult following. This is an advanced investment, best if you’re tapped into Bordeaux rather than a broker or an investor.
Wines Year Description:
RPJ reckons these new wines are the best these makers had since the 70’s. He gave this a 91-94 rating, leaning towards the higher. Therefore, this is worth a long shot if you want to spread your bet on Bordeaux. It tastes of black cherry, dark fruits, complex and layered with a hint of spice. It’s powerful and refined but with a distinctive edge and fairly long finish. It will live till 2030 and be ready in years in 2012. An advanced investor’s choice, fairly high risk, maybe a little too speculative at this stage.
