Wine Description: |
A dry red blend from Pessac Leognan made by Jean Delmas, this is a classic wine that hits the entire mainstream buttons for investment. It grows well, carries low risk and is beautiful to drink even in a bad year! It is a 1st growth with production up to 15,000 cases but expect 12,000 on average. This is great for investors because the quantity will go fairly quickly. |

Wines Year Description: |
See the 2000, 2003, 2005 for better choices. At 93 points this is fairly low down on the list of Haut Brion to buy. Graphite and dark fruits are in the mix of aromas but there is nothing clearly leaning out of the glass. Medium to full bodied, this wine still carries hallmarks of being strong and elegant with a refined finish. This will live till 2025 and is ready this year or slightly before 2007/2008. The investment life is already used in terms of spikes in price but the long term value will still be adding in incremental year by year. I would buy this to drink if you can find a good price but not to invest unless you love the wine itself. |
