RPJ Score: 90-95
Wine Description: A dry red blend from Pessac Leognan made by Jean Delmas, this is a classic wine that hits the entire mainstream buttons for investment. It grows well, carries low risk and is beautiful to drink even in a bad year! It is a 1st growth with production up to 15,000 cases but expect 12,000 on average. This is great for investors because the quantity will go fairly quickly.
Wines Year Description: SEE THE 2005! This is a lowly version of a great wine with 92 points from RPJ. Plum and black fruits will rise from the glass, but the taste is not quite as precise as the 05 or other better years. It still has a long finish and distinctive edge that can beat the likes of its local friends. It will live till 2034 and is ready next year in 2009, so perhaps it’s worth buying for the spike in price between now and next year. It has lowered in quality of expectation over the years so don’t buy if you are a new investor.
