A dry red blend from Pauillac. One of the most famous wine names on the planet. This 1st growth carries enormous weight as one of the best wines to drink and as an investment. 2003 was known to be one of the best wines ever made! A blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon and 19% Merlot this wine received 98 points from RPJ and in many eyes, particularly within the UK; this is seen as a 100 point wine. It has taken a good 10 years to shape up right and the wine will be ready in 2010. The wine is rich and elegant, layered with fruit and black currant drops throughout the long finish. It has been ready to drink since 2007 according to RPJ and it will last until 2035. Great investment, doubled in price over the last 18 months, will one day be a 10k wine, maybe in 7-10 years.
