Wine Description: Pauillac - Medoc, dry red blend. One of the 1st Growth’s and very popular world-wide, especially in the Asian market. Beware price and choosing the best of a good bunch.  See year 2000 for best performance growth.
Wines Year Description: Bordeaux producers are optimistic about 2009 vintage already comparing it with the 2005 vintage, believing that 2009 may well be better. These judgements are based on the superb quality of the thick-skinned grapes, with many confident they will produce great wines. Christian Moueix, who manages some of the most sort after wineries on the Bordeaux right-bank, believes that mother nature smiled on France – with every major region enjoying a beautiful growing season. ‘I have never seen anything like it in my career, a career spanning back to 1971’. Lafite Rothschild has already proven itself as the ‘best-performing asset’ of the last decade. The 1982 vintage made returns of over 870%, whilst the 2000 vintage has also grown from £2,200 on release to a hefty £14,500 by January 2010. This is not only a must-have for the Fine Wine investor, but it is an asset that all investors should seriously consider having in their portfolios. When the opportunity comes to purchase a truly great Lafite Rothschild on the up, it must be taken.
